Our hostel opened in 2014, and since then, we have welcomed thousands of guests through our doors. Rum Bunkhouse, campsite and eco pods were designed to fit every traveller - whether you're a seasoned hiker or someone looking to escape from the world in the quiet serenity of a Scottish island, our accommodation is the perfect base. Simple, laid back, and comfortable.

Our accommodation is community owned, and so your support and custom helps us improve not only the building itself, but the island community. The hostel features work done through various volunteer programmes throughout the years, and each space has been created with our guests in mind.

It's managed by a married couple - Elle and Coinneach - who moved to the island in 2024 in search of new opportunities. During your stay, you'll often see them manning reception, perhaps with their son on their hip, or around the site doing various bits of work, cleaning and chatting to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
