Winter on the Isle of Rum is truly special. It's a chance to experience the wonder of Scotland's only Dark Sky Sanctuary, and enjoy a quiet, tranquil break in front of a roaring fire. We have special offers on for our winter season, and are open all year round.

Winter breaks - up to 25% off stays between November-March

November through to March is a magical time to visit Rum. There's a chill in the air, the log burners are roaring, and the wildlife and nature on Rum is putting on a show. On clear nights, you'll be able to see the Milky Way and clear constellations, and walk home by the light of the moon. And winter is an incredible time for nature lovers - the eagles and buzzards will be out more often, and keep an eye out for otters and seals in the bay.

Our discounts for the winter period are below, and when you book through the website, they will be automatically applied to your booking depending on how many nights you book. Make sure to have a look at the Calmac Winter timetable ahead of booking - there are boats to and from Rum on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Christmas and New Year at Rum Bunkhouse

Looking for the perfect festive escape? Join us at Rum Bunkhouse, ideal for unforgettable celebrations with friends and family. Our hostel and cabins are open as normal, so snag a bed while they're available and join us for an unforgettable festive season. Make it extra special and shop local - we have contacts for fantastic meat from trusted butchers and game dealers from the Small Isles and Lochaber, and stock up on fresh produce from the village shop.

Join the locals on Rum for Hogmanay at the village hall - a casual affair with music, drinks and counting down the bells in style. Bonus points if any of you are musical - there's always room for more on the stage.
