Pre-arrival information
Thank you so much for making a booking with us. We’re really looking forward to having you.

Here is all of the information you need ahead of your arrival.
Bunkhouse bookings
If you've booked to stay in our Bunkhouse, these notes are for you!
Check In/Out
Check-in is between 2 PM - 3 PM. If you arrive early, please feel free to leave your bags in our reception area, but please note that you won’t be able to access the Bunkhouse until check-in time. There are plenty of gorgeous short walks accessible from the Bunkhouse, and the local shop sells hot soup and delicious coffee!
Check-out is before 10 AM; there’s no need for a formal check-out, but we would appreciate a note in our guest book!
Our facilities
You'll have access to two large kitchens, and a fridge with designated food boxes labelled with your name. You can make use of our cosy lounge, complete with log burner, dinner benches, and sofas with breath-taking views - and a few sets of binoculars for keen bird-watchers. You'll also be able to use our drying room to dry out your clothes after a day of hiking! Rooms in the Bunkhouse don't have plug sockets - they have reading lights and USB charger ports. This is because of our commitment to low energy use. You'll be able to use plugs in the main common areas for things like laptops, but we ask that you keep your energy consumption low if possible!
What to bring
We aim to have everything you'll need, but there are some things we'd advise you bring with you. You'll have fresh bedding, but please bring your own towels as these are not provided. Our Bunkhouse is a shoes-off building to make you feel at home (and to keep our floors clean from hiking mud!), and so we'd advise bringing some cosy socks or indoor shoes with you. There's a well-stocked village shop just a few minutes walk away with fresh fruit and vegetable deliveries every Monday and meat deliveries every Thursday.

The important bits
We live on a beautiful Scottish island, and it does mean the weather can be unpredictable. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with our cancellation policy - when you booked, we took a deposit equal to the first night of your stay. This is non-refundable. We take payment 28 days before your booking. If you cancel your booking after that, we'll take the full amount as payment. We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance, as they can help in the event a ferry is cancelled due to weather/technical issues.
Cabin bookings
Are you staying in our eco-cabins, Hallival and Askival? Here's everything you need to know.
Check In/Out
Check-in is between 2 PM - 3 PM. If you arrive early, please feel free to leave your bags in our reception area or at the shelter situated on the campsite. There are plenty of gorgeous short walks accessible from the Bunkhouse, and the local shop sells hot soup and delicious coffee! When it's time to check in, pop over to the Bunkhouse reception and a member of our team will show you to your cabin.
Check-out is before 10 AM; there’s no need for a formal check-out, but we would appreciate a note in our guest book!
Our facilities
When staying in our cabins, you'll get to experience a more off-grid, camp-like experience. Each cabin has 4 single mattresses, 2 plug sockets, 2 USB chargers, a plug in heater and an electric kettle. You can also access the free communal BBQ on the campsite, and make use of our outdoor showers and toilets. And there's WiFi if you need to stay in touch with the outside world!
Please note, if you're staying in our cabins, you won't have access to the Bunkhouse. If you'd like to use the drying room, speak to a member of staff.

What to bring
This is just like camping! Make sure you bring something to sleep in - either a sleeping bag or something similar. You'll have a mattress, but covers/pillows are up to you. Towels aren't provided and so make sure you bring your own!
